White head growth on my cichlid!

Recommended Posts

There appears to be a white growth on one of my cichlids. None of the other fish have any signs of the same thing. Does anyone know what to do?

Is it kinda fluffy looking? Probably some sort of fungal infection. Sepertate him and treat him with some sort of anti-fungal medicine avaliable at any pet store.

If the growth resembles cotton, kind of fluffy. it,s most likely cotton-wool disease. It's not contagious, caused by aggression loss of a scale or other small wound. It is a fungal growth and can be treated quite easily. If left untreated the growth will continue until it kills the fish. And it could'nt hurt to treat the entire tank. remember to remove the charcoal from your filter while medicating. You should get great results in about 5 days.
