  1. dying fish, labored breathing

Sounds to me like you have an ammonia problem. This happens when you take all the rocks out of the tank for a week or two and put them back in. The bacterial growth that was on the rocks is dead. At this point the problem has probably been solved (since it is almost a month later). If you are going to do that again, I highly recommend getting a bottle of bacteria from the LFS and dump that in the tank during the process. This will help you have much better results immediately, which makes it way easier in the long run. I always have a spare bottle sitting around. Jeff

if you want your plecos to stop dying get a bigger tank with more hiding spaces or get bristlenose plecos...cichlids seem to leave them alone. jeff

  11. Im new to ciclid world and i need tips

    whats your question?
  12. Sick fish?

you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. hexagonal tanks are not good for cichlids because they are tall, not wide. fish tend to swim from side to side, not up and down. their territories are also horizontal, not vertical. Fish usually don't eat when they are stressed... these are just a few ideas. Jeff
  13. Color changes
