I have 4 lemon peel cichlids, an electric blue and what I think is a jack dempsey. they are all in the range of 3 inches long. I recently found a 2-3 inch depression in the gravel, about one and a half inches deep. Could one of my fish be preparing for new arrivals? Or could it be something else?
Also, I have two 46 gallon tanks but all of my cichlids are currently in one - I have come to learn that this is quite small but I'm working on it. When I bought them, I had one 24 gallon tank. For 6 cichlids - what size should I be looking at for healthy fish?
