Under gravel filter

I have heard a lot of different opinions about under gravel filters. I am wondering what you all think about them. I have wanted to try them in my 55 gal. cichlid tank but do not want to deal with it if they are junk. thanx ron.

i am thinking of useing under gravell filt i am useing tetratech 600 canister external not much cop the only thing with ugf
is if your fish dig thay will nack the filter hope this hels keith ;)
