fungus on cichlid?

I have a orange cichlid, for about 4 days now it has been hiding behind some fake plants i have in the tank, not their is a white film growing on the fish, it is getting bigger....should i go ahead & put it out of its misery???? anyone know what it is???

Since this is a public forum, I don't think that a private reply is in order...

There are a lot of things you can do to save your fish, like treat the tank. If one fish has it, more than likely all your fish will come down with it. So flushing the fish down the toilet isn't going to solve anything. Treat the whole tank. Make sure when you do it, you take the activated carbon out of your filter, because it will render the medicine useless...

I HAVE OSCARS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM ,ITS A FUNGUS I CALLED THE PET STORE ,THEY TOLD ME TO COME AND GET A FUNGUS REMOVER.
