dead fish

is it common for the mother to die after holding. i have had 2 sets of fry and both of the mothers died. what can i do about this because one more mother is on the way and i dont want to lose her.

No, it is not common. What cichlids are you keeping?

i've never heard of that, but i don't think its common either. I'm also curious about what kind of fish you have as well. :)

i was just thinking, depending on the fish...maybe the male might of killed the female. Males' tend to have a bad temper when they don't get what they want, its nature for them...try to have a little crawlspace or something for the female to hide so that the male can't go in there with female. :lol:
