When do Melanichromis auratus males change color?

I think they change when they are 2-4" although I don't know if they change color or just the way their stripes are.

In all the articles that i have read one the melanichromis auratus they say that the male turns black with yellow stripes, but they never tell you when they change.

I have one that is 1.5 inches and getting very dark and another of the same size staying bright.

roughly 6/8 months or between 3-6 inches

I know that my my auratus changes colors all of the time. When he is not stressed and perfectly happy he stays pretty dark but if stressed he looks completly different. You can not even tell it is a auratus.

He is still very young but I was told at about 3 1/2 to 4 inches He will be very very dark.
