#188 OSCARS

Posted by Damien on 28 March 2004 - 05:22 AM in Emergency Room

i just bought some ping pong balls today and so far my oscars love them!! all day long all you hear is them playing with them and my last reamaining plant is still there. as of feeding them more often, they always have a steady supply of feeders and pelltes. When they want some pellets they will jump up and hit the lid of my tank, and i feed them, but they really do seem to have fun with the ping pong balls. Thanks for the advice!!

#162 Most Aggressive Central American Cichlid.

Posted by Damien on 13 March 2004 - 06:38 AM in Central & South American Cichlids

i have a five inch green terror and he is very aggresive. i had a midas cichlid in the same tank with him that was almost 8 inches long and my green terror killed him. he harasses my two full grown oscars and theyll try to eat him but hes too big.he is almost twice as small as my oscars but yet he still messes with them/. so i dont guess size matters in the fish world

#102 MY FAVORUTE FISH

Posted by Damien on 18 February 2004 - 07:10 AM in Introductions

I HAVE ONE GREEN TERROR IN MY 55 GAL TANK. ITS THE ONLY ONE IN THERE RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I JUST STARTED THIS TANK. I WANTED A GREEN TERROR BECAUSE THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO REAL AGRESSIVE, BUT THE ONLY BAD THING IS THAT IM NOT FOR SURE WHAT OTHER TYPES OF CICHLIDS THAT I CAN PUT IN THERE WITH IT. I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE ONES I DO DECIDE TO PUT IN THERE WILL BE ABLE TO DEFEND ITSELF. I THOUGH VERY HARD ABOUT A FRONTOSA AND MAYBE A FIREMOUTH. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS IM NOTR FOR SURE HOW BIG THESE FISH GET WHEN THEY'RE FULL GROWN AND IF THEY ALL WILL BE ABL TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM EACH OTHER. I READ THAT THEY ARE ALL REALLY AGRESIVE. SO DOES THIS SOUND LIKE A GOOD IDEA OR SHOULD I PICK SOME OTHER FISH TO PUT IN HERE. DOES A GREEN TERROR REALLY LIVE UP TO ITS NAME?
THANKS,
DAMIEN

#98 OSCARS

Posted by Damien on 16 February 2004 - 08:27 AM in Emergency Room

I HAVE TWO OSCARS(A RED AND A TIGER OSCAR) IN A 75 GALLON TANK. THEY ARE ALMOST FULL GROWN. IVE HAD LIVE PLANTS IN MY TANK AND FAKE PLANTS AND THEY ALWAYS TEAR THEM UP SOMEHOW OR MOVE THEM ALL OVER THE TANK. THE ONLY THING THEY CANT MOVE ARE TWO PIECES OF DRIFT WOOD THAT I HAVE IN THERE WITH THEM. THEY WILL TRY TO BREAK MY HEATER AND THE FILTER TUBES. AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG WITH THESE FISH TO MAKE THEM ACT THIS WAY OR ARE THEY NORMALLY THIS AGGRESIVE?
